Vitamin D
can contribute to immune system regulation, healthy body weight, multiple
Sclerosis prevention, healthy brain function, cancer prevention, Rheumatoid
arthritis prevention. Not only that, as per some recent studies, there may even
be a connection between vitamin D and heart health. It is a heart disease which
gives rise to the occurrence of a heart attack or a cardiac arrest. The best
way to deal with a cardiac emergency is by going for a BLS class Tampa (BLS stands for Basic Life Support which is a basic
CPR program which has specifically been designed for first-time healthcare
providers and medical students). There are other CPR programs as well which has
been designed for non-healthcare providers. One needs to go through the course
curriculum prior to enrolling for a program in order to choose the most appropriate
program for oneself.

Significance Of Vitamin D- As per studies, people extremely low
in vitamin D are twice as likely to suffer a heart attack, heart failure, or
stroke within five years, when compared to people with higher levels. People
with high blood pressure are at greater risks which means only those lacking in
Vitamin D need not be concerned about their hearts. It may sound as good news
for many people but the unfortunate fact is that a huge US population doesn’t
get enough vitamin D which might include you as well.
Vitamin D is
generally produced naturally through our skin when we are out in the sun. A few
years ago, most of us got all the vitamin D we needed since outdoors is where
we worked and played but like you all know, more of our daily activities take
place indoors these days. When we do go out of the house, we put on sunscreen
to protect ourselves from the damaging rays of the sun which blocks vitamin D
production. People who live in the northern latitudes also have a reason to be
concerned as sun isn’t as plentiful there as do:
·
Obese individuals- the body fat inhibits vitamin D’s
effectiveness.
·
Older adults (over 50 years of age) - the skin is less efficient at
synthesizing vitamin D.
·
Dark-skinned people- People who have dark skin means
there are higher amounts of melanin pigments which makes it is harder for the
skin to produce vitamin D from the sun.
As per most
doctors, adults need 1000 units of vitamin D everyday which is difficult to get
from the diet alone. That is why taking a dietary supplement is often
recommended. Scientists also believe that “safe sun”, 15 mins or so a few times
a week without the sunscreen can prove to be good for the health.
