Lack of any form of physical exercise on a regular basis is one of the main causes of rising heart disease cases in America, which can be attributed to diabetes and obesity resulting out of lack of exercise on the part of most Americans. If you really wish to live a healthy, fit, and happy life, it all starts with regular exercise (of 30 minutes at least every day).
A common excuse cited by most
people for not exercising is how busy they are, so much so they cannot set
aside a minimum 30 minutes for exercise. You’ll most probably change this
stance if you knew the consequences of little to no physical activity, which
are as follows:
Poor dietary choices- Not exercising
at all leads you to make poor dietary choices, such as potato chips in
comparison to when you are physically active that automatically make you resort
to healthy diets.
Poor sleep- Sleep
disturbances/disorders are common among Americans. If you’ve lately not been
sleeping well, it’s high time you started exercising. Regular physical activity
can cause an increase in your sleep time, not to mention ensures quality sleep,
and help you feel more rested throughout the day. If you’ve never indulged in
any sort of physical activity and are dealing with insomnia, seek medical help
since it may be time to resort to some kind of sports or at least to go outside
the house to exercise.
More stressed- Exercise
helps in managing stress well. There’s no running away from stress- a part of
our everyday life, which can lead to high blood pressure and heart diseases, if
not tackled in time. Exercising regularly can help you in blowing some steam
off. Not to mention your uplifted mood. Make sure you move regularly to have a
positive outlook towards life. Exercising regularly also ensures a reduction in
depression symptoms.
You are easily tired- You could
experience shortness of breath even when climbing a staircase when you don’t
exercise at all. This isn’t a thing to be proud of, especially when you are
young. Regular exercise (could be walking, swimming, running in the
neighborhood) boosts heart and lung health thereby reducing breathlessness.
Exercise equips your body to effectively take in and absorb oxygen, when it is
tired in particular. Lack of exercise renders your body’s ability to use the
oxygen ineffective, thus making you feel out of breath. Not to mention how
important is for our vital organs like brain to receive oxygen.
You may not be able to
anticipate now things that can happen (in the future) when exercising is out of
the question. From weaker bones to a decreased lifespan, lack of exercise can
have serious consequences for your health. So get up and get moving, and make regular
physical activity a part of your lifestyle.
